Mission and history

Mission of the network

LINQED wants to contribute to the improvement of human and animal health and to support the rational basis and country ownership of health care systems and policies in developing countries by strengthening postgraduate training capacity in clinical, public and international health. This is reflected in the name LINQED, which refers to the different facets of the network: Learning together on quality in education in international health, working on quality in education and linking up people.

Activities of the network

LINQED organizes annual workshops in different member institutions. It also provides financial and pedagogical support in stimulating educational projects and organizing thematic workshops that focus on quality assurance and e-learning.

Funding of the network

LINQED is funded under the 3rd Framework Agreement between the Belgian Directorate General of Development Cooperation (DGD) and the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp. This Framework encompasses individual and capacity strengthening, as well as a networking component. In line with the Paris Declaration and the Accra Agenda for Action, the overall goal of this Framework Agreement is Switching the Poles.
