2011Workshop Grouppic

This workshop focused on the development of three sub-projects: exchange project, quality assurance project (students’ assessment) and e-learning project. The workshop aimed to determine activities for the three sub-projects and how the budget would be used for them. This four-day workshop intended to 

i) provide delegates an opportunity to develop educational exchange proposals that are relevant to LINQED members’ needs and adaptable to the LINQED overall goals and

(ii) promote an understanding of a salient quality assurance issue (i.e., student assessment) so that the workshop participants can share a common framework of quality assurance on student assessment.

Universitas Gadjah Mada, which has taken on a new status as a state-owned legal entity since December 26, 2000, is the oldest and largest university in Indonesia. The university has an impressive collection of buildings, laboratories and equipment, as well as guesthouse facilities.

The Faculty of Medicine UGM (FM-UGM) is an academic institute for both undergraduate and post-graduates (masters and clinical specialist). UGM is also running 6 Masters programs: Biomedical, Public Health, Tropical Medicine, Occupational Health, Clinical Health, and Medical Education.

The faculty also supported a multidiscipline international masters program of biomedical engineering through Asia-link project, which is a collaboration between Groningen University, Belgium, India and Indonesia (UGM and Bandung Technical Institute). The FM-UGM has a well established research unit.
